Logistics plays the role of a tool to link activities in the global value chain such as supply, production, distribution circulation, market expansion for economic activities in optimizing the flow cycle of production and business. In Vietnam, logistics is identified as an important service sector of the national economy to support economic connectivity and development. 

According to the Competitiveness Assessment Report of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in 2019, Vietnam's logistics industry has achieved an average growth rate of 12%-14%/year, contributing to GDP from 4%-5% and is on the rise. The strong recovery of the economy and vibrant import and export activities are the main driving forces for Vietnam's shipping to participate more deeply in the global logistics network.
