Job Description:
• Visit/ canvas cargo for Europe trades to achieve target lifting.
• Coordinate all FOB nominations and ensure local agents/ shippers are serviced nicely.
• Coordinate with other departments and ensure smooth operations are achieved.
• For CNF shipments, offer market competitive rates to secure cargo. In case rate
requests below tariff are received, request Trade Manager to send the rate request to
respective Geneva line managers for approval. Responsible for all the FMC filings.
• Assist Trade Manager in ensuring that the overall budget targets set by each marketing
plan given on each trade are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
• Development of new clients through referrals, newspapers, magazines, MSC's network
and other means.
• Identify new and potential clients to set up meetings to understand their business and
requirements.
• Maintain a close relationship and get full support from the clients with regular visits
and entertainment i.e. lunch, dinner, etc… within budget to enhance opportunities of
getting required business.
• For FOB shipment (Destination Control Accounts, Geneva Control Accounts), obtain full
details from shippers/ other sources i.e. full style address, commodity, rates (if any), and
send them as sales lead to respective parties (DCA/ GCA) for them to secure business.
• Maintain the current clients and at the same time increase MSC presence/ share in the
market.
• To introduce myMSC/ Intra portal to existing/ new customers.
• Prepare and send Daily/ Weekly reports to all concerned relevant parties.
• Monitor and ensure that Weekly Reports on lifting performance are sent on time to
MSC Geneva/ MSC Regional Office.
• Attend to all Sales Leads received and reply to the sender.
• Assist and support Trade, Customer Service Manager's functions in their absence.
• Perform any duties as assigned by Trade Manager/ Commercial Manager.
• To work with all customers and provide weekly volume forecasts/ long-range forecasts
to the Customer Service Manager for him/ her to send to Regional Office.
• Support Trade Manager in ensuring Credit accounts and Cash payments are paid on
time.
• Assist Export Documentation Department to handle complicated demands and special
arrangements from Shippers/ Consignees from time to time.
• To handle space and -related regarding a few Global Tender accounts.
• To liaise with Geneva and other MSC Agents for special issues/ problems.
Requirements:
• Minimum Diploma in any discipline.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in trade or sales.
• Strong MS Office software application.
• Strong written & spoken English skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer Orientated.
• Have self-drive and passion to deal with people.
• Able to work independently.
• Adaptive.
• Problem-solving skills.
